This office also provides state authentication. ****NOTICE**** The handling of real estate closings by notaries public constitutes the unauthorized practice of law in South Carolina. Offering advice to clients, preparing deeds, notes, mortgages, and any other documents related to the transfer of property do not fall within the duties of a notary public. ApostillesState Authentication is a certificate authenticating the acts of a Notary Public or an official whose signature is filed with this office. Fees
FormsAll notaries must reapply each time they renew using the same application, fee and process as initial appointment. Check "Renew" instead of "New" in the top right and follow the instructions on the first page. Name changes must be filed before notarizing in a new name.
